hi!
There are different scenarios that need careful consideration before you'd opt for tree trimming insurance. The first thing that comes to mind is the worker's compensation insurance.
See, your trimmers may face the most severest of fates with such a profession due to the chances of injuries that they may come across. Under such circumstances, the attorney of the injured may even come after your assets. So, better you decide now which form of insurance you're seeking & why.

Thats probably the first thing that comes to mind. But I believe that its gonnabe equally fatal if he works without a liability coverage.
While trimming a tree, if your trimmers hits & damages any of the neighboring properties..just think what might turn up & who'd be responsible for that. So I have every reason to believe that if you're being offered a quote of $1200 ( when I think of the cumulative expenses on your equipments & carriage) I feel its worth it. Blazewood-horn

Hi..
Even if it is about trimming a huge oak I believe a quote worth $1500 is not too bad when I take into account the mess that has to be cleaned apart from pruning the tree itself.

I think the question was about an tree trimming insurance quote, not the price of trimming a tree, but anyway,
You're in a pretty hazardous business, but I guess you already know that, don't you?
You need to know your state's requirement for Workers' Comp insurance. Some states require it if a business has one full-time or part-time employee, while others have minimum number of employee requirements.
My state will allow the plan to "EXCLUDE" the owner's wages. Some state have an Assigned Risk Pool (Workers' Comp Pool) and that may also be available to you if your business requires this insurance coverage.
You will probably also need General Liability insurance, which may be hard to find for your business, but there are probably insurance companies out there who specialize in your type business.
If you own property, vehicles and equipment, you will also need to check on commercial auto and property insurance.
Many company's offer Business Owners' Policies (BOP), which will combine the GL and the property and equipment.
As far as a quote, there is no way to get that without talking to a business insurance agent, giving that agent a lot of personal information and information about your business.

| I know some people that need a few trees removed,im planning on doing them myself-im 22 years old and im an arborist-my question is the same as the first guy,but also are there such policies that could cover me for just the time being of the work? |

Rates for GL insurance are based on either sales or payroll. Tree trimming is a high hazard class that will go to the excess and surplus lines market depending on how large your business is, sometimes resulting in an unaffordable policy for the smaller guy. As for WC, rates are also high and wont be accepted by a standard carrier like TheHartford or Travelers. If you need help placing this coverage feel free to call Christian at American Westbrook Insurance Services (630-571-6166), I am meeting with a tree trimming company this morning.
