my dad died and i was told that he had a policiy in my name.
but all his papers where thrown away. how can i find out if he did have a policiy? |

Here's a great place to search. It'll cost a few dollars, but they have over 170 million records and are completely legit.

| I have a follow-up question... if you publish a death announcement via the obituary page in your local newspaper, will that help? in case there really is a life insurance, does that help in letting any insurance company know that a policyholder has died? and will that insurance company try to contact you? |

There are a couple of other sites I have listed on my website as well. I've always found MIB to be the best.
