I feel that its against the law to prolong my insurance because I have lupus and burns all over my face for not having my medication for one week. I have been paying out of pocket for medication and insurance have not kicked in as of yet.

Hi Smith, I guess your question is why your policy has not been issued yet, right? Have you inquired the same with the agent? May be the insurer just want to make sure that they are not taking any undue risk, and therefore have decided not to provide coverage before you recover. How long have you been suffering from these symptoms? Doesn't your policy say anything about pre-existing conditions?
