Well, Aflac insurance policies aren't available online. Therefore, you are required to meet the Aflac agent personally in order to know more about the policy details.
Keep in mind that Aflac health insurance policies are only supplementary policies and not the mainstream health plans. this additional coverage can be used to plug the holes in the health plan.

Insurance Maze IS RIGHT ON, you can cancel anytime,
(Insurance Maze "If you bought the insurance at work, all you have to do is to tell your manager or HR person or plan administrator to stop deducting the insurance premiums from your paycheck.")
Also ("Wow Insurance Maze doesn't not know what she/he is talking about! I am an Aflac Policyholder. I also am in the HR department")
I feel she is probably getting a bonus on keeping employees hooked! |

| That could very well be. Usually if you contact someone in your works office they can get this taken care of. That is if its through your work. I can not see where the trouble is in ending the policy. I could see if you were trying to get anew one after canceling a policy. |

| This is really the only exposure that I have had with aflac besides them coming to our yearly event, it is usually offered through a work plan, so common sense would say that you would cancel it the same way that you signed up for it. |

Well, ADELICATEIMAGE, you seem to have quite a knowledge with AFLAC thanks for sharing your views with us. Also, the comment that you have made regarding the company has forced me to ask,

Have you had any bad experience with AFLAC? Would you recommend their policy to others? I've been approached by AFLAC through my employer, but not feeling very confident about them after reading this discussion. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

My experience with aflac has also been positive, my husband had and one of our dogs tore up his arms to the bone, was off work for like two weeks, a real mess and aflac came through very quickly and with little claim forms. It was a real easy process. When his company was bought out the policy went away.
When they come to our event this year, I am gonna pick up some information on individual policies and what it cost to do an individual or family plan. |

| I was under the understanding that an AFFLAC policy had to be purchased through a work place. If you have a policy that is like AFFLAC that is given to you from your job can a person purchase a seperate policy like this on their own or would this be like double claiming? Whe you get your information maybe you could stop back at this post and give us some rates. |

| Quote: | | "Open Enrollment" has NOTHING to do with canceling coverage in any way, shape or form. Open enrollment deals primarily with (Section 125 plan or not) an employee's ability to get into employer group and after-market plans (such as Aflac) without having to worry about health or other qualifying concerns. It has nothing to do with getting OUT of a plan. |
you couldnt be more wrong InsTeacher. Since it's a pre-tax benefit the government requires you to wait til open enrollment to cancel. Dont ask me how i know this. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |
